Sailun is committed to innovation in tire design and materials to offer you the best performance and endurance available. That’s why we adhere to environmentally friendly processes, and that’s why we developed a new, groundbreaking method of manufacturing tires to increase tire quality and tire lifespan: EcoPoint3 technology.
Research and development
We adhere to three core values.
- Quality: To create great tires at every manufacturing stage so users can drive confidently.
- Trust: To ensure every product is given the same attention to detail through tire testing, automotive journalist reviews, and accredited test lab results.
- Support: To offer our customers a product we believe in with industry-leading warranties and customer service.
As part of our mission to accommodate these values, we offer sustainable solutions, smart technology, and a premium brand experience. At Sailun, we use renewable raw materials throughout each stage of the manufacturing process to create tires that deliver comfort and fuel efficiency.
With these values and parameters, we create tires that improve your safety, save you gas money, and make driving an experience rather than a connection between two experiences. As such, the science behind tire quality at Sailun is largely driven by EcoPoint3 technology.
EcoPoint3 technology
Before we developed EcoPoint3 technology, fillers were mixed into rubber mechanically. The problems with this method were one, that it was energy-intensive, and two, that the filler wasn’t evenly distributed. Now, EcoPoint3 technology will be used in all future Sailun products for enhanced tire quality.
How was EcoPoint3 technology created?
Sailun spent years researching continuous liquid-phase mixing. Instead of the dry mixing technique, EcoPoint3 technology, or “liquid gold,” the filler is mixed evenly into the rubber compound at a liquid stage. The higher salinization efficiency and stronger filler-polymer interaction create a finer compound that better resists stress, friction, and abrasions.
EcoPoint3 technology is key to modern tires since they consist of many different materials that must be seamlessly blended. They’re made up of around twenty-five rubber compounds and fillers until they’re deemed fit for the road.
They usually contain silica, carbon black, sulfur, zinc oxide, oils, and resins. However, we use silica instead of fossil carbon black as the main filler. A choice that both reduces our CO₂ footprint and showcases our ambition to be sustainable.
Following the finetuning of EcoPoint3 technology, it was tested by the international testing center IDIADA to ensure it performed exceptionally. Tires made with this method underwent myriad tests and driving situations to test their legitimacy. It received the top score for rolling resistance and wet grip, earning a Class A quality seal.
Why was EcoPoint3 technology created?
As the demand for tires and sustainability have grown, we saw the need for an innovative new process. Tires must have the highest safety standards, exceed performance expectations, be environmentally friendly, have a sustainable tire lifespan, and be efficient. It was a necessary invention to coincide with our core values at Sailun.
It promotes resource conservation and sustainable manufacturing processes to improve our global carbon footprint without sacrificing performance. With every tire produced using EcoPoint3 technology, energy consumption is reduced.
The benefits
One important factor when manufacturing with EcoPoint3 technology was to keep tire quality up, and make it even better. We were successful. EcoPoint3 technology produced tires with better rolling resistance, durability, fuel economy, wet grip, and wear resistance.
Using silica as a filler allows the tire to penetrate water on the road so the tire can thoroughly grip the pavement. Liquid-phase mixing also lowers rolling resistance so fuel consumption is low and drivers can save on fuel costs. Where electric vehicles are concerned, lower rolling resistance will lengthen the range of an electric vehicle’s charge.
The rubber compound in EcoPoint3 technology tires is softer. A softer compound leads to reduced heat generation, less road noise, and fewer vibrations. Lower heat increases tire lifespan, making it an excellent choice for all-season tires.
Sustainability in manufacturing
Sailun remains a sustainable brand. Using non-fossil silica produced by the National Engineering Research Center for Rubber and Tires (NERCRAT) replaces the need for carbon black filler made from fossil fuels. This technology helps us reduce CO₂ emissions by eight kilograms per passenger tire and thirty-six kilograms per truck tire. The tires become more environmentally friendly, as do our operating procedures since less energy is required to mix, mold, cool, and dry the rubber compound when mixed at the liquid phase.
Sailun innovation for superior performance and reliability
As seen in years of rigorous testing and research, tires made with EcoPoint3 technology perform exceedingly well compared to other tires in the market. Leverage tire quality that lasts and doesn’t waver by checking our lineup now.
